The town of Golden has flourished in recent years as a result of the development of the new and exciting Kicking Horse Resort. Formerly a small local hill and pure heli-skiing terrain, the resort boasts a high-speed gondola that whisks you to the summit in minutes. Three huge bowls, plenty of off-piste skiing, the ski area is hugely popular among expert and advanced skiers and riders. The town itself lies below the ski hill a mere 5-10 minutes away. There are plenty of on-hill lodging options, from boutique lodges to luxurious condos.
