Canmore

A former mining town, now turned world-class resort town, Canmore is located just outside the Banff National Park, only 20 minutes east of Banff. With the three tri-area resorts: Mount Norquay, Sunshine Village and Lake Louise, and Kicking Horse not too far away in neighbouring Golden, British Columbia, it offers a skiable area hard to match and an incredibly long ski season (November - middle of May). April skiing can be amazing with very few people and some of the season's best dumps!

The town is also home to the Canmore Nordic Centre, a former Olympic venue and home to World Cup cross-country skiing events. It offers a range of accommodation options, from budget hotels to million dollar vacation homes. The downtown core is home to a number of fine dining venues, locals bars and boutiques. It offers somewhat of a more authentic experience compared to the towns of Banff and Lake Louise.
