RK Heli-ski
The founder and original heart and soul of RK heliski was Roger Madson who pioneered heli-skiing when in 1970 he used a Pilatus aircraft, which specialized in short take offs and landings, to guide heli ski tours on glaciers in the Central Purcells.
In 1975 he formed a partnership with Hans Gmoser who is the founder of the well-known Canadian Mountain Holidays. They called their joint endeavour Radium Bugaboo Heli-Skiing Ltd.
In 1979 the aircraft was replaced with helicopters. RK then moved its base of operations to Panorama and eventually became RK heliski panorama inc.
RK now has over a 38 year history in the Purcells. RK's ski guides are highly experienced and certified by the Association of Canadian Mountain Guides, or equivalent, which is an internationally recognized certification.
