We recommend The Moon Handbooks for Western Canada (one for Alberta and another for British Columbia). The Lonely Planet and Frommers also have good guide books available on the area. For the Yukon, we recommend the Yukon Travel Adventure Guide by Dieter Reinmuth, and for Alaska, the Frommers guide is a good choice. Much research can also be done on-line before your trip (keep in min some of the commentary can be very subjective!).
