
Travel Tips
You have booked your trip! You are coming! In this section we provide basic information for the traveller to Western Canada and Alaska/Yukon. Our Destination section will also provide you the opportunity to review information regarding the areas you will visit.
Here is a general checklist of things to remember to bring for any trip:
- Passports (and visa if necessary, check ahead!)
- Airline tickets (call ahead to reconfirm)
- Drivers license from country of origin (if you will be driving a car or RV)
- Travel insurance information (from us or from elsewhere)
- Paso Norte documentation (including itinerary, vouchers, maps etc)
- A major credit card (preferably VISA o Mastercard)
- Bank card (with Plus)
- Some cash or travellers cheques
- Required medication, prescription for refill (just in case)
- Collapsible luggage (for RV travel)
- Name tags on all luggage
- Carry-on luggage/flight attire - include a change of clothes if possible, a warm jacket, and wear sturdy shoes; Ski/snowboard boots for ski/snowboard trips; also your camera, batteries, chargers, above listed documentation (in case of luggage delay)
Helpful, but optional:
- International drivers license (if original license not in English)
- Guide books (e.g. Frommers, Lonely Planet, etc)
- Music for car, tour van or RV (iPods or mp3s with adaptors, or CDs)
- Camera, extra batteries, chargers, film or memory card
- Adaptor(s) for electrical outlets (or transformer for voltage if required) - check each appliance you are bringing carefully; 12V, lighter type charger cables are also handy.
