Daily rates:
Cruise Canada/America uses a "flex" pricing scheme such that daily rates vary depending on supply and demand by location and by date. The earlier you book the lower the rate will be. Rates change every Saturday at midnight.
Include:
- Basic motor vehicle insurance (liability)
- VIP Coverage - Reduces deductible/client responsibility to $1000 for collision and comprehensive (500$Cdn required deposit). Does not cover personal contents. Restrictions and conditions apply.
All prices in $Cdn or $US. One week minimum rental. The drop-off day does not count as a day. In Canada, prices do not include taxes (GST 5% in Calgary & Whitehorse, HST 12% in Vancouver, HST 13% in Toronto, HST 15% in Halifax, PST/GST 13.925% in Montreal). In Anchorage, tax of 11% applies.
Extras/Supplements
Kilometres - The km packages may be included with booking or at pick-up. There is no refund possible for unused kilometres. Upon returning the vehicle, extra kilometres are charged at 0.32 $Cdn/US per km/mile plus taxes.
- Block of 800 km - 235 $Cdn + taxes
- Block of 500 miles - 147 $US + taxes
- Unlimited km/mileage - 998 $Cdn or 765 $US (up to 21 days), extra days: 42$Cdn/day or 29$US/day + taxes. Valid until Oct 31, 2012.
Personal Kits (strongly recommended) - Sheets, blankets, pillows, towels etc. 50 $Cdn/US per person + taxes.
Vehicle Kit (strongly recommended) - Pots & pans, cooking utensils etc. Note: propane tanks will contain a minimum of 1/4 tank upon pick-up and must be returned with same level. 100 $Cdn/US per vehicle + taxes.
"Colorado Road Safety Fee" (mandatory)- only applicable for pick-ups in Denver, USA. 2$US/day. This is paid locally.
Drop or One-way Fee - Applicable when vehicle picked up in one place and dropped off in another. One-ways between USA and Canada not permitted. From 100 - 500$Cdn/US depending on combination plus taxes.

Early Bird Departure Special (EBDS) - Must be booked more than 30 days in advance. Includes: transfers from airport area hotels (also downtown hotels in Halifax, Whitehorse and Anchorage) starting at 8:30 am, vehicle pick-ups starting at 9 am, late return option up until 3 pm, transfer paid for to airport area hotels (also downtown hotels in Halifax, Whitehorse and Anchorage) or airport (only Calgary, Montreal, Toronto, Vancouver and Anchorage) after drop-off.
- Departures Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday: 165 $Cdn/US + taxes*
- Departures Monday, Friday, Saturday and every weekday following a Holiday: 315 $Cdn/US + taxes
- Departures Sunday: 615 $Cdn/US + taxes (upon request only). No drop-offs permitted on Sunday.
*For Seattle, Boston and New York City, 315$Cdn/$US rate applies Monday through Saturday.
Optional Rental Items:
- Camping Chairs: 7.50$Cdn/US per rental + taxes (subject to availability).
Travel Restrictions
- Alaska, Yukon & Northwest Territories: Non-public roads, unpaved back roads, and logging roads are off-limits. Seasonal restrictions may also apply. Travel not recommended on Petersville Road (Trapper to Petersville), McCarthy Road, Elliott highway (from Eureka to manly Hotsprings), Dalton Highway (from Fairbanks to Prudo Bay), Steese Highway (from Central to Chicken), Taylor Highway (from Chicken to Eagle), Dempster Highway (north of Inuvik), Cassiar Highway (from Dease Lake to Telegraph Creek), North Canol Road (from Ross River). Travel on these highways at your own risk. Services are limited and Cruise Canada / America will not be held liable for lost travel time.
- RVs must not be left unattended in downtown Montreal, Quebec City, and Ottawa (due to risk of theft).
- Death Valley (California) and other desert areas: no travel permitted in July & August. In May, June and September at your own risk. Client would be responsible for all vehicle recovery and other charges.
- Mexico - not permitted.
- Winter travel - in Canada and northern US states, vehicle systems are not fully operable during subfreezing temperatures. The units are likely to have anti-freeze in holding tanks meaning vehicle water will not be available.
