Rainforest to Gold Rush

The Rainforest to Gold Rush experience is the perfect Journey if you wish to immerse yourself in natural beauty and colourful heritage. Awe-inspiring natural landscape bears witness to tales of a gold fever that captured the interest of adventurers the world over, and led to the creation of the province of British Columbia.

This journey features some of the most dramatic scenery in the world of rail travel. You will wind along the shores of Anderson and Seton Lakes, which formed part of the route to the Fraser and Canboo gold fields. The landscape varies dramatically, and includes the desert-like Fraser Canyon, named for explorer Simon Fraser who made it part of his perilous voyage to the coast.

The Coastal Rainforest - also known as the Great Bear Rainforest - is the largest intact temperate rainforest in the world, and home to some of the oldest and largest trees on Earth. Your halfway point is the charming town of Quesnel. The journey continues through the Rocky Mountain Trench, framed by two mountain ranges. Soon you'll be awestruck by the 4,000-metre grandeur of the highest peak in the Rockies, Mount Robson, before continuing on to Jasper - one of Canada's pre-eminent national parks.
