Fernie
Located in the Elk Valley, Fernie is a paradise for the outdoor enthusiast. A plethora of options await for
fun in the sun or snow. For a summer outdoor adventurer, Fernie is the starting point for a number of hiking and mountain biking trails. Be sure to keep your eyes peeled, you may spot a herd of Elk. If you prefer water to land, Elk River offers great kayaking, rafting and fly-fishing.
When snow makes its first appearance in late fall, snowboarders and skiers aren't far behind, cutting through the legendary Rocky Mountain powder. Try snowshoeing or snowmobiling throughout the valley, or for a change of pace, see the sights from a dogsled.
