Campbell River
The Salmon Capital of the World, Campbell River is renowned for its sport fishing. Visit Discovery Pier, a popular place with locals and visitors alike, to test your angling skills, or simply enjoy the sunset over the water.
Begin the tour at the local museum with exhibits focused on early settlers as well as local First Nations history. Next stop is the Campbell River Optical Maritime Museum where you can examine one of the Island's finest collections of maritime artifacts. A short ferry ride to Quadra Island takes you to the Kwagiulth Museum & Cultural Centre where the family will be awed by displays of Native ceremonial regalia. East of town, explore Discovery Passage from a new angle -- beneath the water! With The Columbia, a sunken ship, as a recently created artificial reef, the area has become an amazing diving location and an internationally celebrated ecosystem.
